1. The past weeks incentive was all bowlers strike in any frame of any game and the team wins a tray of pizza and a pitcher of soda. Surprisingly no teams won this time. This weeks incentive is five consecutive nights in a row paid in full drawing. If I receive the list of eligible bowlers from Shelly before Thursday I will publish it here and send it out in another e mail. If I don't receive the information, you can check with Shelly on Friday before the drawing to see if you are on the list of eligible bowlers.
2. There are only 8 weeks left to bowl. A preliminary count was taken on who is going to the clambake, who is going on the bus trip, and who is bringing guests. Right now the bus is overbooked. There are 52 league members who want to go on the trip. The bus has 55 seats. It holds 50 people comfortably, 51 snuggly. Most years during the weeks while guest money is being collected normal attrition will open a few seats. Right now there is no room for guests on the bus since there are 52 league members going. The league cannot afford a second bus for just a few people. The league officers have met and what they decided on is this. The 9 people who wish to bring a guest. If they pay the $40.00 guest fee now, their money will be held in escrow in case any seats open up. Who pays first will be first on the list to bring a guest. The order that the people who wish to bring a guest pay the guest fee will be the order they are on the list. If no seats open then the $40.00 fees will be returned to those who paid them after the payment period ends which is March 16. The only other option for the people wishing to bring a bus guest is to switch to the clambake which has unlimited openings.
3. There are currently two people who have bus trip guest money in escrow to bring a guest on the bus. As of now no seats have yet opened. Click on the end of season events button to see where you are on the list to bring a guest.
4. I am now collecting guest money and second event money. You have 4 more weeks to pay. All guest money and second event money must be paid in full by March 16. Due to the cost increases in the clambake, the bus, & bus supplies the cost to bring guests will be $40 this year. The league does not make any profit on the $40 guest price. Blame the poor economy, congress, and the high cost of everything for the $40 price. With the price of gas soon going over $4.00 a gallon there is a good chance that the bus trip cost will increase again next year. We will have to wait and see.
5. The league currently has openings for six bowlers on 5 different teams. Consult the standing sheet to see the openings. Please ask your friends to join the league and help to fill the league 100%. They won't be sorry they joined as our league has many fun social events and incentives. Don't forget the league incentive for bringing new bowlers on the league is now in effect. If you bring a new bowler on the league and they bowl for 10 weeks paying full dues, the bowler who brought them on gets a coupon good for a free night of league bowling. See bylaws for complete info. There is currently two bowlers on the league taking advantage of this incentive.
6. Remember additional honors, all you have to do is write anything on the back of your weekly captains reports and I will post it on the website for a week as long as it is clean. Put scoring or bowling accomplishments, splits converted, funny information about a bowler, anything at all. If you want this section of the website to continue, please continue to submit new items every week and give your friends the honor they deserve.
7. The annual bus trip to Atlantic City will be held June 30, 2012. The annual clambake at Van Fleets Grove will be held July 14, 2012. More details will be available as we get closer to the actual events.
8. Anyone wishing a printout of all their games for tournament verification or any other reason. Just ask and I will have it ready for you the following week at bowling.
